Backend Engineer / Procedural 3D Developer
Build backend systems that transform product and residential information into structured data and accurate 3D assets.
About The Role
Build backend systems that transform product and residential information into structured data and accurate 3D assets. Your initial focus is furniture ingestion, with scope to contribute to digital home creation and other 3D workflows as priorities evolve. Work alongside our product and 3D domain experts.
What You'll Do
Build server-side services, APIs, and automated workflows that ingest, normalize, enrich, and publish product and residential information.
Design databases and relationships for products, residential spaces, dimensions, source evidence, and generated assets.
Develop and integrate programmatic 3D workflows, including procedural modeling, asset processing, and generation services.
Implement validation for scale, dimensions, geometry, and textures, with inspectable failures and correction paths.
Make pipelines repeatable and observable through testing, retries, logging, and practical monitoring of quality, speed, and cost.
What You Need
Strong backend fundamentals: server-side code, API development and integration, database design and architecture, and workflow automation.
Hands-on programmatic 3D experience is required: creating or manipulating 3D geometry and assets through code. Deep procedural modeling experience is strongly preferred; lighter programmatic experience can qualify alongside strong backend skills.
Ability to debug across services and data flows. Python, TypeScript/Node.js, SQL, and Blender are relevant examples; equivalent experience is welcome.
Nice to Have
Relevant 3D work could include Blender scripting, Unity, game development, procedural geometry, or automated model and asset processing.
